Starke River
Four hours north of Cooktown, this river is well worth the drive. Another pristine ecosystem that winds inland and provides habitat for a wide variety of river fish species.

Endeavour River
Named by James Cook after his ship, the Endeavour this
river is located north and west of the township of Cooktown.
Lined by mangroves in many parts it provide a nursery area for many species of fish and crustaceans.
Annan River Mouth
Located 15 kilometres south of Cooktown, the Annan River offers a variety of landscapes from tidal flats and beaches to coastal dunes rivers and hills of granite and volcanic make.
