Welcome

Cooktown is the gateway to the unspoilt wilderness of Cape York Peninsula, where the rainforest is interweaved by mangroves and white sandy beaches that lead to coral reefs...
-REGIONAL CLIMATE- Cooktown's tropical climate ensures that whenever you choose to visit us the weather is warm. With a maximum average temperature of around
27°C, you are assured of perfect conditions. The period from May to December is referred to as the Dry Season because rainfall is at its lowest and the tropical breeze keeps you comfortable. The Wet Season from January to April provides the best weather conditions for fishing, as there is usually no wind at all, therefore the Coral Sea is like a mirror, offering great reef fishing.
